6 Podcasts and The One Trick To Rule Them All

I’m sure I’m like many of you who have far too many podcasts to listen to and not enough time. I fell in love with podcasts around 2005 when I had my first iPod, the Classic 5th generation with 30GB of storage space.

One of the first podcasts I would listen to was This Week In Tech with Leo Laporte. Listening in on the roundtable discussion was fun, and I always felt I was learning something new.

Then I graduated to video podcast, and looking back now and recalling watching those videos podcast on such as small screen on the train going to and from work was always fun. In fact, I still have my iPod, and just powered it up to see what was on it – that thing still works!

Fast-forward to 2015 and now my phone is my podcast player. I have about 30 podcasts I subscribe to, and I can’t say that I listen to them all. But I do have several that I do my best to finish.

The trick to speed up your podcast consumption

But before I go into my top six podcasts, I want to share a little trick with you. I learned this from Gurusimran “GS” Khalsa, and others in the community. To get through all those podcasts, listen to them at 1.5x or 2.0x the speed. This makes a huge difference; I can zip through many of my favourite podcasts and not have to declare podcast bankruptcy.

At first, I found it difficult, but if you stay with it, you can adapt, and it does work. Below I want to share with you six podcasts I listen to, and I hope you find it interesting as well. I did omit all the typical tech podcasts that we listen to, my goal is to hopefully share some new podcasts with you.
