This sounds like a nice move from AWS to get startups to build on AWS infrastrucure.

Starting July 1, startups that have raised a Series A round of funding in the past year will be eligible for 100,000 before, the Amazon cloud unit said in an email to venture capitalists this week. Seed-stage startups will still be eligible for $100,000 in credits, AWS said.
As Microsoft makes gains, AWS needs to start thinking of ways to capture a growing market. Time will tell if this stategy works, but once locked in it can be hard to move off the paltform.
The new credits will expire in three years, vs the one year they offered for the old profram.
