Breaking News: CIQ, Oracle, SUSE Form Groundbreaking Linux Association

Pretty interesting power move by Oracle, SUSE and CIQ to address the recent news from Red Hat on their source code availability. They started the Open Enterprise Linux Association (OpenELA).

Starting later this year, OpenELA will provide sources necessary for downstreams compatible with RHEL to exist, with initial focus on RHEL versions EL8, EL9 and possibly EL7. The project is committed to ensuring the continued availability of OpenELA sources to the community indefinitely.

It will be intriguing to see who else joins the collaboration. The community has spoken, and this group will definitely fill a void in our community.
