VMware vCenter converter has been pulled from the VMware product download page with a new version in the works.

One of our top goals is to maintain the safety and stability of our customers’ workloads. As part of a technology’s evolution, we must consider the technical standards the customers must comply with. When a straightforward update cannot meet compliance requirements, the product needs to undergo a thorough rebuild. This is the case with vCenter Converter, whose functionality will be migrated to a modern platform based on a reliable technology stack.

As this version had not been updated for sometime it makes sense for VMware to remove it and offer a new version when the time is right.

VMware vSphere 7 Update 3 has been re-released and it also addresses the Apache Log4j critical security vulnerabilities.

In November, we took the unprecedented step to retract the ESXi 7 Update 3 release from the market. This was to protect our customers from some potential failures as they upgrade to ESXi 7 Update 3 and our desire to minimize customer exposure to them. We’re pleased to announce that we have resolved these issues and are re-releasing ESXi 7 Update 3 to the market as part of vSphere 7 Update 3c. We have also updated vCenter Server as part of this Update 3c release announcement.

Folks who have a VMware Horizon environment should read some of the recent updates for Log4j and take the necessary steps required to update your systems.

Note that all internal and external Horizon components including Connection Server, Agent, Cloud Connector and UAG must address the Log4j vulnerabilities in an urgent manner. Customers who have deployed Unified Access Gateway (UAG) as part of their Horizon environment should follow the guidance given in UAG knowledge base article 87092, in addition to the Horizon guidance provided in our advisory.

Due to additional disclosures from Apache Software Foundation, releases were last updated on Dec. 16th and workaround scripts were last updated on Dec. 19th. Either can be used to address CVE-2021-44228 and CVE-2021-45046.

NVIDIA AI Enterprise 1.1 is now generally available. Optimized, certified and supported by NVIDIA, the latest version of the software suite brings new updates including production support for containerized AI with the NVIDIA software on VMware vSphere with Tanzu, which was previously only available on a trial basis. Now, enterprises can run accelerated AI workloads on vSphere, running in both Kubernetes containers and virtual machines with NVIDIA AI Enterprise to support advanced AI development on mainstream IT infrastructure.

Cisco UCS C240 M6 rack server are one of the first systems to be NVIDIA-Certified for NVIDIA AI Enterprise. I’ve implemented Cisco UCS in the past and it’s a great system for this.

The display of the raid5 (8x2TB) shows 13TB and 12,7 seem’s to be used.
But there are only 6 VMs with all in all only 7.2 TB
How is this possible?
Now i can’t build up another VM as the isn’t enough free space

Solution: Check if the VMs have snapshots, you could also have snapshots of some backup software.
