Introducing the Copilot Key: Microsoft's Leap in Keyboard Innovation!

I guess 2024 will be the year of AI.

Microsoft will be adding a new key to their keyboards for Copilot, which will launch their ChatGPT chatbot. We will start to see others do this as well, with AI being part of every product or service we buy.

Tom Warren writes at The Verge

The Copilot key is the first big change to the Windows PC keyboard layout in nearly three decades. “Nearly 30 years ago, we introduced the Windows key to the PC keyboard that enabled people all over the world to interact with Windows,” says Yusuf Mehdi, executive vice president and consumer chief marketing officer at Microsoft. “We see this as another transformative moment in our journey with Windows where Copilot will be the entry point into the world of AI on the PC.”

Microsoft has also introduced a new term, 'The AI PC'. Let's see how long that lasts. Do you remember 'The Network Computer' that was going to usher in a new paradigm as well? I think the AI PC will have staying power. I suspect this will increase adoption for their chatbot, but I wonder about antitrust, does anyone recall Internet Explorer vs Netscape.
