Today VMware has released vSphere 7 Update 2. Since moving to a six month release cycle VMware has been on target with the releases. The key focus areas for this release are: Deliver AI & Developer Ready Infrastructure, Boost Infrastructure and Data Security and Simplify Operations.
Himanshu Singh writes on the VMware vSphere Blog:
I am always curious as to how many folks are leveraging AI in their environment and using VMware and NVIDIA to power that experience. I am keen on knowing if you are using a separate vSphere cluster for these activities or running this in your standard environment. Nice to see that this release supports for the latest generation of GPUs from NVIDIA, Ampere family of processors.
I am also keen on always making things simpler for myself and the team I work with. I am interested in how vMotion auto scaling will perform. This feature will automatically tune vMotion for the best performance on high speed networks. If you have tested this already let me know on Twitter.
Do you have a plan to rollout vSphere 7 update 2? Anything in this release have you excited? Did you install update 1? How did that go? Let me know on Twitter and thanks for reading.
