One of the great things about the technology community is that there is no shortage of conferences to attend. We work in a dynamic field, and change is constant, learning is ongoing and keeping informed can be a challenge.
It’s of course hard to attend every conference with limited budgets and limited staff. We also attend conferences in which we have a vested interest — for example; If we are a Microsoft shop, we head to Microsoft Ignite. We rarely have additional funds to attend conferences to explore new or emerging technologies.
Conference recordings have a long tail
Many of these technology companies realize that to keep current customers excited about the product roadmap, expose new people to their products and vision they need to make the sessions and keynotes recordings available to the largest audience – freely. The current trend for the last few years is to post the recording on YouTube for viewing.
I have compiled a list of 14 technology conferences that took place earlier this year, which you may have missed and three that are upcoming. You can catch up with all their technology, announcements, roadmap material right from your home. These recordings provide a good deal of information, and it’s almost like being at the event.
The next best thing to being there
Of course, the experience of attending these conferences in person is ideal, as networking with folks in the community is always paramount. I’m hoping you take the time to check out some of these videos, share with friends and colleagues, and learn something new.
