The Future of Infrastructure is Here: Cisco and Nutanix's Joint HCI Package

Cisco and Nutanix making some impressive updates to their alliance, by making it easier for customers to adopt and deploy HCI with Cisco.

If you are a Cisco customer, you need to give Cisco Compute Hyperconverged with Nutanix a consideration for IT modernization.

The vendors are now taking another step by announcing tighter integration between Intersight and Nutanix management systems; support for the Nutanix AI-based GPT-in-a-Box package; and improved enterprise network integration with Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).

One other key piece to the partnership is repurposing older servers for HCI use. I know as an IT pro, showing how you can save money and still deliver benefits to your business is an important action.

“Now, existing customers get to move freely to Nutanix without refreshing their hardware early, ultimately maximizing their investment and making operations more sustainable. The traditional scenario would require Nutanix HCI customers to purchase and deploy net-new factory-installed servers dedicated to running Nutanix,” Gorlin said.

I really like how closely these two vendors are working with one another to bring the best of HCI to customers.

Analysts said the Cisco-Nutanix partnership is focused on deeply engineering the technology between the two vendors rather than just reselling each other’s equipment, which will be valuable for enterprises looking at HCI.

You can always give Nutanix a test drive online or download Nutanix community edition and give it a run in your home lab or dev lab.
